Just Us Girls #219 - Technique

Welcome to this week's Just Us Girls Challenge

This week Sue V. has pick a fun technique called Faux Silk for us to try.  I had never tried this before, but it was a lot of fun to do.  I'm adding a link to a Split Coast Stampers video to help you get started.

Here's my card

I started by stamping my image on a piece of white tissue paper with Dark Sage ink.  I let this dry for a couple of minutes and crumpled it up.  After, carefully, smoothing it out, I attached it to a piece of Kraft cardstock that had been run through a Xyron.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with a Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five die.  I cut a Dark Sage piece of cardstock with another die in the same set.  I used a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five die to cut a panel of patterned paper.  The Dark Chocolate piece of cardstock was embossed with a Cuttlebug Wood Grain embossing folder.  The sentiment was stamped with Dark Chocolate ink, and everything was attached to a Dark Sage card base.

Please visit us at Just Us Girls to see what the rest of the team and our Guest Designer, Jan Del Bone, have come up with this week.  I hope you will join in on the fun.  We would love to see what you create with this technique.

Just a reminder that Just Us Girls will be continuing the Guest Designer position.  Winning  Chic of the Week puts you in the running for the GD spot.  At the end of the month, after we have all of our Chic's of the weeks for that month, the JUGS girls will decide who the Guest Designer will be. The Chic picked from the December challenges will be joining the team as our Guest Designer for the month of February.
