Just Us Girls # 317 - Wild Card

This time at Just Us Girls since this is the 5th Saturday of the month, it's time for a Wild Card challenge!  Hi, Sharyn here and I'm your hostess this week.  My Wild Card choice is to make a One-Layer card.

With the completion of this challenge, we will be saying goodbye to our Guest Designer, Julie.  We have enjoyed seeing her beautiful cards and appreciate that she shared her talent with us.

Here's my card

I am so not a one layer kind of gal but wanted to challenge myself.  I have seen so many beautiful watercolor cards lately and I wanted to give it a try.  I bought this stamp set on vacation and thought it would be a great candidate for watercolor.  I colored the stamp with Distress Markers and then sprayed it with water mixed with a little Perfect Pearls.  After it dried, I added some splatters of paint in white, pink and purple.  The sentiment was embossed in black.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Julie, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and play along with us.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our October or November challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as one of our two Guest Designers for the month of January. The team will be taking a 2 week break in December, and therefore, will not have a Guest Designer for December. Good luck!

The Recipe:
Penny Black Trumpet Song
GKD Stippled Nature - sentiment
MFT Harlequin - inside
Distress Markers
Perfect Pearls

  3. Oh Sharyn, this is just beautiful. It's a great stamp to start with and you made a fantastic card with it. That is a soft watercolor technique. You did make a one layer card! Thank you for your sweet comments and support while we are getting through this. It has been a rocky road this month and now he is in a safe place and being taken care of. It's a big adjustment for both of us.
