Indy Honor Flight - Thanks

This card is for my husband's Uncle Harold.
He is getting ready to go on the
Indy Honor Flight
to Washington D. C.

We were asked to send a card, letter,
note or postcard to thank him for his service.

The only thing I could think of was stars.
Do they even make a stamp set thanking
a military person for their service?

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your kind comments are always appreciated.

You Are Out of this World

I finally had a chance to play with the Out of This World Make It Market kit.  What fun!  My grandsons will love this one.

This was my first try at a galaxy background and while it's not too bad, I'm anxious to play some more and see if I can make it better.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Just Us Girls #326 - Color Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Color Week.  Maria is our hostess and she has chosen Dark Blue, Light Blue and White as our inspiration.  Please use only these  three colors.

This one was a fun one to do.  I knew I wanted to do something with stars when I heard the colors.  I used a die set from Lil' Inkers called Stitched Star Dies.  I love these dies because they also make a stitched line on the negative piece of card stock.  In this case, I decided to do an inlay effect so you can see both sets of stitch lines.  The little stamped stars are from a PTI set called Scene It Celebration.  The sentiment is from a PTI set called Birthday Cheer.

Please visit the Just Us Girls page to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our two Guest Designers, Deepti & Vicki, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along with us.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our January challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of March.  Good luck!

Seize the Birthday - Red, White & Blue

This time at Seize the Birthday the topping is Red, White & Blue.  Of course, if you don't want to do the topping, it's always "Anything Goes" as long as it's for a birthday.

Here's my card

As most of you know, if you visit my blog very often, that I am a gingham girl.  I adore the Super Gingham stamp from PTI because I can make background paper in any color I need.  For this card, I stamped white pigment ink on Red Hot card stock and then splattered it with watercolor paint.  The stars were cut with a beautiful stitched star die on foil paper.....love the shine!

Please visit the Seize the Birthday blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team have made this time.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along.

Just Us Girls #262 - Trend

This week at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week, and Sue T. has chosen Ombre as our inspiration.  The vision for my card came to me around midnight the other night as I my lying in bed trying to go to sleep.  I had to literally get out of bed, find the stamps and put them on my work table to help me remember the idea in the morning.  I actually do this quite often and seem to come up with some of my best ideas at this time of night. lol  It is with sadness that we will be saying goodbye to Sue T. at the end of this challenge.  I will miss her kind spirit and wonderful talent.  Best of luck, Sue, in all you do.

Here's my card

I started by clear embossing a wonderful stamp set from Reverse Confetti called So Many Stars on white card stock.  I sponged with 4 shades of blue ink from GKD, all listed below.  The two focal image die cuts are from Reverse Confetti and the Hello sentiment is from W Plus 9.  I used the in-lay technique on the star panel.  The hello die cut consists of four layers of card stock.  The top black layer and three different shades of blue underneath.  I, also, added some black and white twine and a black button.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Wanda Cullen, have made this week.  I can't wait to see how you are inspired by the fun Trend of Ombre.
