Simple Things

The 4th was a very quiet and relaxing day for us.
I was able to get into my craft room
and put together two cards.

I am really enjoying the new stamps from The Greetery's newest release.
I, also, love that Betsy is only releasing every other month.
It gives me more time to enjoy and use my stamps & dies.

When I received my new goodies,
I sat down and stamped out lots of images.
This has worked out well for me.
I have a lot of fun things ready to go.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Birthday to You

I had some time to play today,
so I pulled out a sweet set from Gina K. Designs called BoHo Flowers.
I've had this set for quite awhile and it's about time it got inky.

I started by taking a piece of white card stock
and with Bubblegum and Wild Wisteria ink
I used the smooshing technique to make the paper
I needed for my flowers and butterfly.
I used the Petite Flourish stamp to make the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thinking of You

I have a friend who is scheduled for back surgery in a few days, and I wanted her to know I was thinking about her.

This is PTI's Fence Line Spring set.  Isn't it the sweetest thing!  I paired it with a fun stencil from MFT called Cloud.  It makes a very calm and peaceful scene.  I hope she will like it.

MIM #323 Cascading Die Cuts

This week at Papertrey Ink Stephanie is hosting the Make It Monday challenge, and she showed us a fun technique to put cascading die cuts on our card.

Here's my card

When I watched the video the first thing I thought of was an upside down umbrella with flowers cascading into it.   I had just purchased the Scattered Showers stamp set with several really cute umbrellas and this super cute sentiment.....Don't fret, Dearie!  In this case, there is no need to fret as it is raining flowers.

PTI April 2018 Blog Hop Inspiration

The Papertrey Ink April 2018 Blog Hop Inspiration Challenge has a wonderful photo to inspire us.  Take a look!

Of all the stamps that I own, I don't have one set with tea cups.  So, my inspiration is coming through color.  Here's my card.

I used the Center Stage Cover Plate die and made a stencil and sponged Aqua Mist ink on a piece of white card stock..  I layered it on a piece of foiled gold paper to look like the trim on the tea cups.  I created a wreath to showcase the pretty little pink and yellow flowers and green leaves.  I layered this on a piece of gold foil paper too.  I added a bright pink ribbon and bow, the Hello sentiment and three aqua enamel dots.

Sending Hugs

This card is for a dear, crafting friend who is in need of hugs.  So, I used a very happy stamp set and some fun colors to try and brighten her day.

I used the 2016 Anniversary set from PTI called Painted Petals.  I really love the flowers in this set and paired them with some fun purples.  The sentiment is from Graceful Greetings II.  I also added some Shabby Pink Enamel splatters.

Hello Stitching Garden

This stamp set is from the new March release at PTI and is called Stitching Garden.

This set looks like vintage stitching.  You can especially see the stitching in the large flower and the leaves.  It's not as easy to see in the photo, but in person it is very visible  I, also, used the new set called Stitch In Time Borders.  It is a very vintage looking set too.

Thinking of You

This is one of the new sets from the PTI March release.
Isn't this butterfly beautiful!

The stamp set is called Butterfly Blooms.  It comes with the butterfly image and some sweet flower images.  I used the flowers to make the background paper.  The panel the butterfly is sitting on is another new set from the March release called Stitch in Time Borders.  I made the splatters on the butterfly wings with Stampendous Shabby Green Enamel Embossing Powder.

Papertrey Ink 2018 March Blog Hop

The Papertrey Ink's 2018 March Blog Hop is here!
Take a look at the fabulous photo that is our inspiration.

I was so excited when I saw this photo.  I had just purchased the Nesting stamp set and it is perfect for this challenge.  Here is my card:

The Nesting stamp set is such a fun set, and I'm really excited that I have a new way in which to use the beautiful nest.  The new Simple Stems stamp set is perfect for the florals in the nest.  I used shades of pink and yellow to showcase them.

2018 Anniversary Mixed Bouquet

I decided to make this card after I read Melissa Phillips tips on Second Generation Stamping.  I used to stamp off a long time ago, and I don't know why I stopped.

I agree with Melissa that you expand your colors just by stamping off.  Each of the two-step flowers and leaves is stamped with one color of ink.  The bottom layer is stamped off and the top layer is the pure color.  I really love the way they look.  The flower set is the new 2018 Anniversary Mixed Bouquet set.  The jar was die cut once in white and once in Vellum.  I colored the backside of the Vellum in Copics BG10 & BG11.....hoping to make it look like water.  I added a pretty little gingham collar to the jar using Tropical Teal ink that had been stamped off.  The background was done with the Super Gingham set.

Color Pop Butterflies

The PTI Color Pop Butterflies is another one of the sets that is being retired this year.  I snapped it up because I love the sweet butterflies.  Here's my card:

I worked so hard on the background panel stamping the butterflies and flowers and then proceeded to cover it up with a Mix and Mat Scallops panel....go figure.  It doesn't make sense, does it?  I added some flowers from the Graceful Greetings II set and a couple of Fancy Flourishes.

Hippity, hop, hop, hop

The new PTI Bunny Blessings set is super cute!
I decided to make a wreath with it.
Here it is:

The greenery that I started the wreath with is from the Autumn Pumpkins set, everything else is from the Bunny Blessings set.  This set contains a sweet bunny, a couple of small flowers and leaves, the eggs and a butterfly.  Everything is a two step process and adds lots of details.  The background is called Background Basics Tin Types and I opted to go with a paper bow to make it easier to mail.

Hoping Your Day is Lovely

I seem to be on a vintage kick lately.  This set from PTI called Nostalgic Notions has a very vintage feel to it.

I love the style of the patterned paper and the fun flowers.  The colors are so cheerful.  When I stamped the flowers, I tried to replicate the ones in the paper.  The scalloped piece with the red and white polka dots made everything pop.

PTI Anniversary Color Challenge

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 11th Anniversary and that means many fun challenges.  The one I'm entering today is a Color Challenge.

The Color Recipe I chose belongs to Laurie Schmidlin.
 Here are her colors:

When I saw the green in this selection, I knew I had to use the beautiful Bloom & Grow stamp set.  The next thing that concerned me was the shading on the flowers, but I stamped them again in the same color making a section of the flower darker and it turned out great.

One More Valentine

This is the last Valentine, I promise.  lol
Here's what I came up with.

I used the beautiful puzzle heart that I've used before, but this time added some never used before stuff.  The heart is from the PTI Perfect Fit set.  The flowers are from the PTI Farmer's Market Florals.  The small ones were very easy to line up, but the big one was not.  I tried it several times and it is still not right, so if anyone has a helpful hint.  It would be appreciated.  The background is from the Stencil Basics Quatrefoil set and I, also, used the Mix & Mat Scallops set.

Thanks so much for coming by to see.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.
