Merry Monday #86 - Chalkboard

This week's Merry Monday Challenge is to use the chalkboard technique.  I have only done this one time and that was a while ago, so I had to watch a video to refresh my memory.  Here is a link for a great video showing this technique at Splitcoast Stampers.  My sentiment is from a Gina K. Designs set called Poster Board Christmas.  I love the vintage look of it and it works wonderfully with this technique.  I die cut the black card stock with a Labels Twenty-Two die from Spellbinders.  I used the two largest dies as a guide to make the white pencil marks.  I used some Gina K. Designs white pigment ink on a paper towel that had been stamped off to lightly brush across the black paper to give it a dusty chalkboard look.  The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio.  I added some holly leaves from the GKD Sentimental Holiday stamp set.  I used a Sakura Clear Star glitter pen to highlight the edges of the holly leaves.  The holly berries are from Recollections.  I added a red ribbon and bow from Offray, some polished hemp twine and a button.  The black onyx, white and red hot card stocks are from GKD.

I am entering this card in the Merry Monday - Use the chalkboard technique and the StampTV - Use no black ink challenges.

  7. I just love this card and it inspired me to try the blackboard technique. although, I still need some practice making the chalky streaks. Your card and the colors are so fun. I just wanted to leave this note on the blog, as it seems that I have trouble with my Ipad.
