Welcome to this week's Just Us Girls Challenge
Look at the great colors Vicki picked out for this week's Color Challenge. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with using this beautiful color combo.
This week's challenge was a challenge because I don't have these exact colors. So, I used the closest ones that I could find. My color pallet is Gina K. Designs Kraft, Powder Blue and Blue Raspberry. I made two cards for you this week. One is a "safe" one and the other is way out of my comfort zone. Take a look and let me know what you think.
This one is my "safe" one. I stamped the background using GKD Pretty Patterns 2 with Kraft, Powder Blue and Blue Raspberry inks. I pulled out a stamp that I haven't used in awhile of a girl riding a bicycle in silhouette by GKD called Face to the Sun and stamped her in Kraft ink. The hello is a die from Savvy Dies. I used the Cuttlebug folder Shower Blossom on the banner and added brads to the bike wheels and banner.
This is the card that lets my wild child come out. I won a stamp set over at Flourishes a few weeks ago called So Distressed, and that is what I used here. This is way out of my comfort zone, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Who knew? I, also, used a stamp set from Gina K. Designs called Simple Numbers.
Please visit the Just Us Girls page to see what the rest of the team and our GD, Geri, have come up with this week, and then let your imagination run wild with these colors. We would love to see your take on this challenge.
Winning Chic of the Week puts you in the running for the GD spot. The Chic picked from the January challenges will be invited to join the team as our Guest Designer for the month of March.
I love the image and cool background on the first one, and the second one is just so on trend right now. Love what you did with those stamps and the colors!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards! I love that 2nd one a lot! Perfect for a tween!

ReplyDeleteSharyn, I absolutely love the color palettes of your cards, both are so sweet. The backgrounds you created are wonderful, full of detail. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeletehahaha wild child! They are both awesome cards! Love the pattern you stamped in the background, and the girl on the bike--she looks like a wild child!
ReplyDeleteSharyn, they are both fantastic! I love the background and design on the first one. And that second one just screams fun.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a new comfort zone! Both of these are great. Love the bling on the bike and the stamp you used. I haven't used the grunge look yet but you have inspired me. It looks good on your birthday card. Great guy card too.
