I was home alone today, so I was able to spend some quality time in my craft room. I had a couple of cards I wanted to work on. The first one is a birthday card for my grandson. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I didn't have the patterned paper I needed. I pulled out a stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger called Lots of Letters. This set is available at Gina K. Designs. Besides a set of lower case letters, this set contains a set of numbers and various circles and squares. I decided on a single square with a stitched edge. I was able to create this wonderful background using GKD Sweet Corn, Blue Denim, Powder Blue & Red Hot inks. The bicycle stamp and sentiment are from the GKD Enjoy the Sunshine stamp set. I used the Verve Pennant Trim die to make the pennant, and as luck would have it, the mailman delivered my Lots of Letters 2 stamp set today, so I was able to add Donovan's name. The Lots of Letters 2 set is a wonderful companion set to the Lots of Letters set. It contains a set of capital letters and various other flowers, pennants, circles, leaves and lines.

We have a nephew getting married in June, so I wanted to make a card for them. I pulled this set out by Becky Oehlers called I do! I have had it for a while and not yet gotten it inky, so it was way overdue. It contains this wonderful hexagon border stamp that I love, and bride, groom, the plus & equal signs. I used a die from Verve called Heart Quartet for the hearts, and Martha Stewart border punch called Beaded Ruffle. I accented the ruffle and the dress with some pearls from Recollections. All in all, I think it turned out to be a really cute card. Thanks so much for coming by to look!

ReplyDeleteBoth your cards are just awesome Sharyn. I think I have that bike stamp and have never gotten it inky. You have inspired me here. Also like the color palette on your wedding card. Very unique and unusual, but it all works. Great job on bothr!!
