Just for fun!

Do you ever just make cards for the fun of it, with no challenge in mind?  The following are some I made.....just because.

Last weekend my husband and I went to an antique mall to look around.  I saw some beautiful vintage tablecloths and was inspired.  This stamp set is from PTI and is called Vintage Linens.  The cloth I saw had a gingham background with some beautiful vintage flowers.  I made a mask of the flowers and leaves and attached them to some white card stock.  I used the PTI Super Gingham stamp to make the background.  I removed the masks and stamped the flowers and leaves.

The Recipe:
PTI Super Gingham, Vintage Linens
Stickles Thistle
MFT Cross Stitch Circles
Cheery Lynn Circle Inverted Scallop & Circle Scalloped
Verve Ribbon

This is also using the PTI Vintage Linens stamps.

The Recipe:

PTI Embroidered Borders (inside)
PTI Vintage Linens patterned paper
Stickles Yellow
Memento Lady Bug, Love Letter ink
Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe ink
GKD Grass Green, Dark Sage & Black Onyx ink

This is from a really cute set that my friend, Brenda, gave me.  I made this card for her.

The Recipe:
Lawn Fawn Gleeful Garden
Reverse Confetti Sun 'N Clouds dies
Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders (inside)

I love this sentiment and doesn't it apply to all of us at one time for another?

The Recipe:

I always like to keep some sympathy cards on hand.  Love this stamp set!

Love this fun frame stamp set and the zipper!

Many thanks to all who stayed with me to the end.  I know this was a long post.

  4. Great cards Sharyn. I love the sympathy one. I love kraft cardstock and it really shows off the white flower. Also your gingham background in pink is so pretty. It's fun to just "make a card" with no specific thing in mind. I always make them for someone but I need to just play and have fun.

  5. These are all so P.R.E.T.T.Y!!!!! And yes, I seldom get to make any card I want, just for the fun of it. I love all of them, but the ones with the vintage flowers are just so YOU!!! Oh, and I love the one with the white on kraft too....always stunning!! And also, I thought that gingham background was patterned paper until I read all the way through. HOW FUUUUN!!!!

  7. Sharyn, so glad that you posted these, just for fun cards. Lately, I have had to make baby and wedding shower and wedding cards along with the hosting requirements and I forgot that you can make them just for fun. Lol if I had to pick one as my favorite, it would be the second one with the white shadow, lovely. Thanks for reminding me that it can be fun. I love them all!

  8. I saw these cards posted over on Pinterest and had to come by and see why I had missed them. I love each and everyone...honestly! The first one is my favorite! I think the background looks like paper and those flowers are beautiful! The sympathy one is soft and wonderfully clean. The snail was is such a cute little scene. Great job my friend!
