Happy Retirement

My husband asked me to make two Happy Retirement
cards for former work friends who are retiring.

The first one is a CASE of a beautiful card that Melissa Phillips made.
I love it and think it makes a fabulous retirement card.
I used Feathered Friends 12, Border Bling Flowers and Some Like It Hot (flowers)
from Papertrey Ink.
I used BotaniCuts Palm from The Greetery and
Enjoy the Journey from Gina K. Designs.
The embellishments are from Trinity Stamps and called Bubble Blow Out.

On this card, I used the Little Pickup from Honey Bee Stamps.
The Cuttlebug Diamond Plate Embossing Folder,
the Stitched Arch Stax and Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things,
Country Roads from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks so much or stopping by.
Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Congrats Class of 2021

I was in need of a card for
a young lady graduating from our local high school.
This is what I came up with.

The school colors are white, royal blue and orange.
The  cap looked plain, so I added a sprig of flowers
to dress it up a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your kind comments are always appreciated.

The Recipe.
The cap is from the PTI set called Graduate
The Congrats, Bold Numbers and Alpha Bud Bold Florals
are from The Greetery.
The tag is from a Gina K. Designs set called Tag Trio.
The embossing folder is called Dotted Lattice
from Taylored Expressions.

Love You to Pieces

Today was a Valentine play day!
I pulled out an old set from Papertrey Ink
called Love You to Pieces Fox
and Love You to Pieces Airplane.

These sets are so sweet and make a little punch out
toy that can be assembled.
The girls get a fox and the boys get a plane.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day

I  wanted to share the card that I made for my husband for Father's Day.

This is such a fun stamp set.  It is very appropriate for today and the family cookout we are having  to celebrate the wonderful fathers we have in our lives: my husband, our son and our son-in-law.  Of course, we are missing my father and my father-in-law who are no longer with us.  I hope everyone has a great day!

Just Us Girls #325 - Trend Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week!  Sue is our hostess and she has chosen the trend of Metals or Metallics.

I am having a lot of trouble getting my creative juices turned back on after the holidays.  My husband was off from December 19th to January 4th, and I was not able to get into my craft room during that time.  I think my mojo went to sleep.  I finally had to force myself today to sit down and work on this challenge.  I used two beautiful sets from PTI.  I started with Background Basics Art Deco and used Kraft card stock and Kraft ink.  I love the subtle tone on tone look.  The other set is called Brushed Blooms.  I stamped them using some of PTI's beautiful inks.  The metal element I added is a charm in the shape of a heart.  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder.

Please visit the Just Us Girls page to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team and our Guest Designers, Deepti and Vicki, have made this week.  I hope you will come and play along with us.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our January challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of March.  Good luck!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

This time at Seize the Birthday there is No Topping.  As always, it's "Anything Goes" as long as it's for a birthday.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and tonight we will be ushering in the New Year!  The past year really did fly by quickly.  My wish for you this year is Peace, Happiness, Good Health, Prosperity & Creativity.

Here's my card

I made this for my friend, Donna, who celebrated her birthday on Christmas Day.  I thought the fun colors would be a nice change from all of the red and green. The two sets  I used for this card are brand new from PTI.  Don't they scream party!  I love the confetti stamps.  I see many wonderful backgrounds in my future.

Please visit the Seize the Birthday blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our Surprise Party Guest, Tanja, have created this time.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along with us.

Just Us Girls #323 - Trend Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week.  Lisa is our hostess and she has chosen the trend of Sequins.  I've been seeing a lot of sequins in cards lately.  You can use a little or a lot.  Here's how I was inspired.

Christmas bells are so special, especially silver ones.  I was in love with this Enclosed Bell from PTI the moment I saw it.  I think a lot of other people must have loved it too, because when I went to order it it was already gone.  I finally got mine and I love it!  One of my favorite Christmas songs is Silver Bells, so this one had to be silver.  In fact it is a glittery silver thanks to some beautiful paper from DCWV called Glitzy Glitter paper.  The patterned paper is some that I happened to have in my stash.  It is from Me and My Big Ideas.  I was thrilled to find it because it has snow flakes in red, blue, green and silver.  I added a clear sequin and bead to the bell's striker and then scattered some around on the red panel.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team have made this week. I hope you will be inspired and play along with us.

We don't have a Guest Designer for the month of December.  The team will be taking a two week break to celebrate the holiday season with our families at the conclusion of this challenge.  If you were a Chic of the Week winner in any of our October or November challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as one of our two Guest Designers for the month of January.  Please check back with us on January 2, 2016 when our Word Week challenge will be hosted by Nancy.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Just Us Girls #319 - Trend Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week.  Maria is our hostess and she has chosen the trend of Water Color.

I struggled so much with this challenge.  I can't tell you how many backgrounds I tried to make only to throw them in the trash. Then I made another card that I was going to go with, but didn't really like.  I decided I could do better than that.  I'm probably going to sound like a crazy person, but when I go to bed, after I get my mind to settle down, if I think about a particular card I need to make, I will usually come up with an idea.  That is how this card came to be.  lol  I have been known to get out of bed in the middle of the night and lay out the stamps I have been thinking about.

I started with some Strathmore Water Color paper and a stamp set from PTI called Fall Florals.  I colored the stamps with Distress markers and spritzed with water, then stamped.  I was thrilled with the results!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Louise Hodge, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along.
