Just Us Girls #361 - Color Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Color Week.  Nancy is our hostess and she has chosen Red, Yellow and Black as our inspiration colors.  As with any color challenge, you are to use the chosen colors and any neutrals that you need.  Neutrals are white, ivory, black, brown, Kraft and gray.

I stamped the gingham background in black and added two strips of washi tape.  The stamp set I used is from PTI and called Stylized Autumn.  This is a new set and super cute for Fall.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Kathy, have made this time.  I hope you will play along with us.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our September challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of November.  Good luck!

Just Us Girls #315 - Color Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Color Week!  Chris is our hostess and she has chosen orange, purple and black as our inspiration colors. With a color challenge you are only allowed to use the listed colors plus neutrals.

Here's my card

I pulled out my Make It Market Halloween kit to make these cute little monsters.  I know Frank is supposed to be green but that is not an allowed color, so this is Fred, Frank's cousin.  Aren't they cute?  The patterned paper is from Doodlebug.  It is a very cool pack with lots of fun colors and patterns.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Julie Gearinger, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired enough to play along.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our October and November challenges. You will be in the running to be chosen as one of our two Guest Designers for the month of January.  Good luck!

Just Us Girls #312 - Photo Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Photo Week.  Vicki is our hostess and she has chosen a beautiful photo as our inspiration.

We will be saying goodbye to our Guest Designer, Melissa Lane, at the completion of this challenge.  I would like to thank her for sharing her wonderful talent with us.  We have enjoyed seeing her beautiful cards.

Here's my card

What a great photo and aren't the colors striking!  I used a background stamp from MFT to create the striped background.  I thought it would be a perfect backdrop for some lovely yellow flowers.  I pulled out a favorite set of mine from PTI called Delightful Dahlia.  After I finished stamping, the ink colors I chose were a little on the light side, so I added some shading with a copic marker.  The sentiment was embossed in black on a strip of Vellum.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Melissa, have created this week.  I hope you will be inspired and play along.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our September challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of November.  Good luck!

Just Us Girls #285 - Color Week

This week at Just Us Girls it's Color Week.  Nancy is our hostess and she has chosen black, white and one other color of your choice.  Isn't that fun!  Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.  Here is how I was inspired.

I started with a stamp set called Antique Map and embossed it with white embossing powder on black card stock.  The boat was stamped in black on white card stock and layered with my color choice, Blue Denim.  I made a little blue denim flag and embossed the sentiment in black.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Jen Mitchell, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and want to join us for Color Week!

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our March challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of May.  Good luck!
