Celebrate, It's Your Birthday

I saw a card a while ago that Betsy Veldman made using the Enclosed Cupcake set and fell in love with it.  This is a CASE of her beautiful card.

The cupcake and the cupcake wrapper was made using a smooshing technique.  I dabbed some ink on my craft mat and sprayed it with water.  I dragged a piece of watercolor paper through the ink and let it dry.  I did this two times using two pieces of paper.  Once with pink ink and once with orange ink.  After it was all dry, I was able to cut out the cupcake and cupcake wrapper.  I used the sprinkle stamp, versamark ink, sticky embossing power and glitter to decorate the cupcake.  For the background, I used one of the Modern Background stencils and some light pink ink to cover a section of the paper and added some little flowers and green leaves in the corners.

The Recipe:
PTI Enclosed Cupcake
PTI Stacked Sentiments - green leaves
PTI Forget Me Not - flowers
PTI Never Enough Birthday - sentiment
PTI Modern Background stencil
Ranger Sticky EP
MS Coarse Crystal Glitter

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Seize the Birthday - Vellum or Acetate

This time at Seize the Birthday the challenge is to use Vellum or Acetate on your card.  Of course, it's always "Anything Goes" if you don't want to play along with the topping, as long as it's for a birthday.  I chose to use Vellum.  Here's how I was inspired.

The quilted background is a stamp from W Plus 9 called Quilt Print.  I stamped it using GKD Sweet Corn, Bubblegum & Wild Wisteria inks.  I then added a rectangle of Vellum that I stitched on three sides, filled with some sequins in pink, gold & silver and then stitched it closed.  I added the sentiment and a fun little cupcake with sparkly icing.

Please visit the Seize the Birthday blog to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team have made.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along.

Seize the Birthday - Sweet Treats!

This time at Seize the Birthday we have an optional topping of Sweet Treats!  Of course, it's always "Anything Goes" as long as it's for a birthday, if you aren't interested in the topping.

Here's my card

What better stamp set to use for a Sweet Treats challenge than a stamp set from Gina K. Designs called Sweet Tweets!  I love the cupcake image with this set.  I colored the cupcake with Copic markers and applied Wink of Stella to the icing.  The patterned paper is from a set called Hootenanny from My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black and embossed with GKD Fine Detail Black embossing powder on Vellum.

The Recipe:
GKD Sweet Tweets
PTI Think Big Favorites #12
MME Hootenanny patterned paper
Spellbinders Classic Circles, Scalloped Circles & A2 Scalloped Borders Two
GKD Tomato Soup buttons
Doodlebug Twine
GKD Fine Detail Black embossing powder
Wink of Stella
