Just Us Girls #316 - Photo Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Photo Week.  Ina is our hostess and she has chosen a great picture for our inspiration.

Here's my card

I started with a Spellbinders Hexagon die and cut it in red and black to lay out my pattern.  I added some beautiful mums in yellow, some leaves, twine, rounded two corners and embossed a sentiment....easy peasy!

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Julie, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our October or November challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as one of our two Guest Designers for the month of January.  Good luck!

The Recipe:
PTI Mum's the Word
Spellbinders Hexagons dies

GKD Pure Luxury White, Red Hot, Black Onyx CS
GKD twine

  1. Oooh love the bold black and red hexagon background. Beautiful flowers too!

  2. The design on this card is so stricking as well as the rich colors. It works well to do the shapes in dark red and black, the yellow flowers over the top. Something that I can learn from you.

  3. So awesome! Love the layout and the hint of the finished inside!

  4. Such a great card design. I love the hexagons behind the flowers.

  5. Oh wow, great take on the challenge. Love your color choices, and those mums are gorgeous, especially since you popped them up for dimension. Great layout too, awesome card!!!

  6. Beautiful!!! Love the bold hexagons behind those beautiful flowers.

  7. How can you make what appears to me as a difficult photo and have such amazing success with putting it all together? You nailed it this week my friend!

  8. Love your big bold hexagons and those flowers are just perfect popped. Great touch with the twine Sharyn. You always make the most amazing cards.

  9. Beautiful design! I love how you used the hexagons as a backdrop for those beautiful flowers. Well done!

  10. This is a great take on the photo. That's why I don't do challenges. I can't interpret how to use the sketch and you made a fantastic card for it.

  11. Love the beautiful flowers overlaying those hexagons in the background - what a fabulous design!! It has been a pleasure designing alongside of you this month- hugs!!
