Garden Gate Birthday

I had my epidural yesterday and didn't do much but rest.  This morning I was feeling better and was able to play in my craft room.  My mom's birthday is coming up in November and I wanted to get her card made early.  Here it is:

I used the Garden Gate kit from PTI.  For the base I decided to use one of the pre-printed panels.  I wanted the pretty side on the inside of the card.  The panel is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  I scored it at 2 1/8 inches from both of the short sides to make a gate fold card.  The panel, as you can see by the bottom picture, has a creamy yellow base with a white lattice print and the purple wisteria.  On the front panel I sponged with Summer Sunrise ink.  I cut the garden gate out of white card stock.  I made a stencil with the lattice insert dies and sponged with Summer Sunrise ink.  I used the pre-printed wisteria over the garden sign and stamped the hollyhocks with Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise and Bright Buttercup ink from PTI.  I used GKD Jelly Bean Green ink for the leaves.  I punched two little holes in the gate and added a piece of twine to close.

The Recipe:
PTI Garden Gate Kit
PTI Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise, Bright Buttercup ink
GKD Jelly Bean Green ink
Doodlebug Twine

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

  1. Thanks for the update, Sharyn. I am so glad the epidural helped you, that is great news. Your mom's card is so elegant and beautiful. That set is just charming. She will love this card. So clever to use the die as a stencil and decorate the inside.

  2. First of all, I'm glad you had the epidural and I'm sure hoping it's going to help. Been thinkin' about ya. Now to the card, it's so adorable. I remember when we all HAD to have that PTI kit and everyone scrambled to order before it was gone...lol. I got it and did about 2 cards with it and haven't touched it since. You have inspired me....thanks!!! Your mom will love this card, it's just beautiful!!!

  3. I knew you had that, sorry I have been out of the loop a bit....baby fever and all! I hope you feel better each and every day! LOVE this card! Perfect stamping, beautiful colors,, Sharyn! I think I have your Mom's address. I'll send her a card too, I should be back in my craft room soon! xo~

  4. This is so pretty! You always make the inside of your cards look as beautiful as the outside! I bet your mom will love it! Hope you are still feeling a bit better!
