Garden Gate Birthday

I had my epidural yesterday and didn't do much but rest.  This morning I was feeling better and was able to play in my craft room.  My mom's birthday is coming up in November and I wanted to get her card made early.  Here it is:

I used the Garden Gate kit from PTI.  For the base I decided to use one of the pre-printed panels.  I wanted the pretty side on the inside of the card.  The panel is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  I scored it at 2 1/8 inches from both of the short sides to make a gate fold card.  The panel, as you can see by the bottom picture, has a creamy yellow base with a white lattice print and the purple wisteria.  On the front panel I sponged with Summer Sunrise ink.  I cut the garden gate out of white card stock.  I made a stencil with the lattice insert dies and sponged with Summer Sunrise ink.  I used the pre-printed wisteria over the garden sign and stamped the hollyhocks with Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise and Bright Buttercup ink from PTI.  I used GKD Jelly Bean Green ink for the leaves.  I punched two little holes in the gate and added a piece of twine to close.

The Recipe:
PTI Garden Gate Kit
PTI Pale Peony, Summer Sunrise, Bright Buttercup ink
GKD Jelly Bean Green ink
Doodlebug Twine

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

  1. Thanks for the update, Sharyn. I am so glad the epidural helped you, that is great news. Your mom's card is so elegant and beautiful. That set is just charming. She will love this card. So clever to use the die as a stencil and decorate the inside.
