Happy Retirement

My husband asked me to make two Happy Retirement

The first one is a CASE of a beautiful card that Melissa Phillips made.
I love it and think it makes a fabulous retirement card.
I used Feathered Friends 12, Border Bling Flowers and Some Like It Hot (flowers)
from Papertrey Ink.
I used BotaniCuts Palm from The Greetery and
Enjoy the Journey from Gina K. Designs.
The embellishments are from Trinity Stamps and called Bubble Blow Out.

On this card, I used the Little Pickup from Honey Bee Stamps.
The Cuttlebug Diamond Plate Embossing Folder,
the Stitched Arch Stax and Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things,
Country Roads from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks so much or stopping by.

Sending Monster Sized Birthday Wishes

I love these sweet monsters!
They are so happy and ready to party.

This is a CASE of Joy Taylor's card.
I thought the design was perfect.
I changed some of the colors, the placement of the monsters,
and the sentiment.

The stamps and patterned paper are all
from My Favorite Things.

Congratulation, Lovebirds

Today I'm using stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.
These little birds are from a set called A Tweet Hello.
Aren't they the cutest things?

The background is a stamp called All Lined Up.
I embossed it with white embossing powder and
then sponged with Distress Oxides in
Tattered Rose, Ripe Persimmon & Abandoned Coral.

I used the largest of the Stitched Circle Frame dies and
sponged the center using Distress Oxides and
a cloud stencil.

The sweet birds and flowers were colored with
Zig Clean Color Markers.

I wanted to buy the Bird Bath die, but it was out of stock,
so I used the Pet Perch die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a Fairy Happy Birthday

This little set from My Favorite Things is called Fairy Happy.
I was wanting something very girlie for my sweet granddaughter's birthday
and came across this set in my never before used stuff pile.

I decided on two Distress Oxide colors...Picked Raspberry
and Shaded Lilac for the background.
The colors are so rich and vibrant.
The Stitched Circle Frame helped to ground
the fairies and the sentiment
and I was able to use some of the other
fun elements in the stamp set to decorate the circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

You're Still the One

When I saw the sentiment "You're Still the One" on the MFT site, I was so excited!  My husband and I love the "Oldies" songs and years ago a group named Orleans had a hit called "You're Still the One."  I knew this would be perfect for my hubby's Valentine.

I love the Heart Art set from MFT.  The hearts remind me of conversation hearts.  I stepped away from the traditional red, pink and white and decided to go with a softer color palette.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

You're Still the One

We've been together since way back when
Sometimes I never want to see you again
But I want you to know after all these years
You're still the one, I want whisperin' in my ear

You're still the one I want to talk to in bed
Still the one that turns my head
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

I looked at your face everyday, but I never saw it 'til I went away
When winter came, I just wanted to go
(Wanted to go)
Deep in the desert, I longed for the snow

You're still the one that makes me laugh
Still the one that's my better half
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

You're still the one that makes me strong
Still the one I want to take along
We're still having fun
And you're still the one
(Yes, you are)

Changing, our love is going gold
Even though we grow old, it grows new

You're still the one that I love to touch
Still the one and I can't get enough
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

You're still the one who can scratch my itch
Still the one and I wouldn't switch
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

You are still the one that makes me shout
Still the one that I dream about
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

You're still the one
Yeah, still the one
We're still having fun
And you're still the one

My Superhero!

Our grandson will be seven on the 20th of this month.  He is in to all things superhero, so I thought this cute little Super Boy stamp would be a good fit.

The stamp set is My Favorite Things.  Isn't he adorable!  I sponged the background with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks.  These inks blend beautifully.  The silhouette of the city is from the girl version of this stamp set called You're Super!  The POW and the background it is sitting on is from The Cat's Pajamas.

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Hello Fall!

I have had this sweet little Harvest Mouse set for quite awhile and thought it was time it received some love.

The little mouse playing in the leaves reminds me of my grandchildren.  We have two really big trees in our backyard and an over abundance of leaves in the fall.  They love to come over and rake them in a big pile and jump in......such fun!

May Your Day Bubble Over With Fun

This is a My Favorite Things set called Soda Pop.  I am always looking for something I can use for the men in my life.  This is a fun one!

For the background I used Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade & Peeled Paint.  Then I sprinkled water over the top.  I love the fun soda bottles and the bottle caps I used on the inside.

Ahoy, Mate!

When we decided to go to Fort Myers Beach, Florida for vacation, I was excited for two reasons. The first being, I love the beach and we were going with our daughter and her family......always a fun time.  The second being, I knew we would be able to stop by the My Favorite Things store on the way home.  I love that store!  Here are two the sets I bought.

The Party Like A Pirate set is adorable and with five grandsons I knew it would get a lot of use.  I, also, bought the Beach Scene Builder set.  It makes it so easy to come up with a cute beach scene.

All-Star Birthday

I'm still working ahead and trying to get some summer birthdays taken care of before our vacation. This one is for one of my grandsons.  He will be 14.

The background is red gingham.  I dug out my Mini Minc and used some red foil and a gingham toner paper to create the background.  I have more trouble trying to photograph foil.  There always seems to be a dark section.  In real life the bright red on the right side of the card is what it looks like all over.

My grandson has a pair of black high tops very much like these.  I think he will get a kick out of this card and these fun shoes.

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  I always appreciate your kind comments.

Sharing in Your Sorrow

I find myself in need of a sympathy card this week.  A long time neighbor lost his wife.  This is what I came up with.

I love the way this came out.  Everything is from My Favorite Things.  The Blueprint 31 set is a brand new one, and I can see I will be using it a lot.  The flowers are from a set called Beautiful Blooms and the sentiment is from the set Deepest Sympathy.  The patterned paper is from Graphic Grid.

Lots of Get Wells

It was so nice to get back in the craft room this morning.  I haven't been able to play since before Christmas.  I received these stamps recently and thought they were very appropriate, since we have had so much sickness in the family.  Why is it that someone always gets sick at holiday time?  The dies and stamps are all from My Favorite Things.  Aren't they fun!

This time at Seize the Birthday there is No Topping.  As usual, it's "Anything Goes" as long as it's for a birthday.

I have used this fun die from MFT several times for boy shoes, but decided I wanted to see what it would look like all glittered and pink for a girl.  I love the way it turned out!

Just Us Girls #330 - Trend Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week.  Ina is our hostess and she has chosen the trend of adding a tag to your card.

I was finally able to get into my craft room for several hours of fun, and I got to play with a couple of new goodies.  The first was a mini minc machine.  I foiled the red stripes on my card.  The discoloration is a shadow when it was photographed.  I love the foil!  The other goodie is a new stamp set from My Favorite Things.  Isn't this little chef just the cutest thing!

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the wonderful cards the rest of team and our GD, Pamellia, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our February challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of April.  Good luck!

I think these elves are the cutest thing ever!  My card is a little larger than I usually make (6x6), but I needed the room to accommodate these three little cuties.  Thanks so much for coming by to look!

Just for Fun!

I had the whole day to myself and wanted to play with some of my new My Favorite Things goodies. Sometimes I like to just make what I want to make and not have to deal with challenge requirements. So, today is a just for fun day!

Isn't this the cutest cup?  I love it and the vellum top!  When we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach, I was able to find a scrapbook store called Scrapbooking by the Sea.  What a fun store!  I was able to pick up some pretty patterned paper packs along with some other things.  The paper from this card came from there.

The Recipe:

Doodlebug - Hello Sunshine
MFT Cool Cup
MFT Stay Cool - sentiment
MFT Cross Stitch Circles

I couldn't wait to play with this fun fireplace and the wonderful candy striped background.  I am a background person and I knew I would get a lot of use out of the stripes.  I have to confess that when I made my order, I did not order the elves.  After much regret, a couple of days later I placed another order.  lol  The elves are on the way!  This cute little Santa was from last year, but he is still a favorite of mine.
