Happy Anniversary

I adore the Cherry Blossoms in the new
Budding Beauties Spring set from
The Greetery.
Don't they just scream Spring!

I used Sketchbook Roses to create the background,
Just Mason Around for the lovely layered jar, and
Budding Beauties Spring for the Cherry Blossoms.
I had a lemon and blossom from the
Lemon Blossom set that I added to the base of the jar, and
the sentiment is from the Sentiment Suite Spring set.
All sets are from The Greetery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Anniversary in Foil

I got the idea for this card  from one of Gina's foil videos.
She did her foiling tone on tone, and
I decided to do mine on white.

The pretty panel is a stencil from Tim Holtz called Lace Layering Stencil.
I used Deco Transfer Gel and then foiled with
GKD Turquoise Foil.
The sentiment is from the Wedding & Anniversary Foil Mates set
and is, also, foiled with Turquoise Sea foil.
I used a GKD Double Stitched Square die to cut out the sentiment.

I was going to layer the sentiment using the Single Stitched Square die,
but when I opened the package I found another Double Stitched die.
I made a call to GKD Customer Service and they are sending me the correct die.
In face, I received the ship notice this afternoon.
Gina K. Designs is a first rate company!

Here are some other panels I made using stencils from Tim Holtz.
I can't wait to make these into cards and play with some more foil.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your kind comments always make my day!

To Have and To Hold

My husband retired on February 1st and everything has changed.  He is home all of the time.  Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE having him home.  We are used to doing everything together and it has been nice to not have to plan everything around his work schedule.  I need to get over feeling guilty about spending time in my craft room, though.  I know when the weather is better he will be outside in his wood shop and doing other things.

Today he went to lunch with some of his retiree friends, so I had some time to myself.  I ran quickly to my craft room and created this card.

I pulled out some new sets from PTI that I haven't had time to play with yet.
I, also, wanted to get away from pinks and reds,
so pulled out some beautiful shades of yellow with touches of orange and green.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Anniversary

I had a few minutes this morning and pulled out some of my new sets that I haven't had time to play with.

I needed an Anniversary card for my nephew and his wife, and this was a quick and easy one.  I love the Bold Borders and these fun flowers.

Happily Ever After

I was sitting at my craft table and thinking that I always seem to gravitate to the same color combos.  I have all of these beautiful ink colors that I don't use, so today I'm trying to use some new colors.  Here is the second anniversary card:

The three colors I used in this combo are Raspberry Fizz, Dark Indigo and Limeade Ice.  It's very different for me, but I like it.

I started by stamping the Corner Adorner March stamp in the upper left and lower right corners.  I then added one of the Quatrefoil stencils and sponged in opposite corners with Limeade Ice and a little bit of Berry Sorbet.  I die cut the center panel of the Mix & Mat Flourishes set.  The main panel is Dark Indigo and the stripes are Limeade Ice.  Next I used the largest of the Stitched Primitive Hearts in Raspberry Fizz and stitched it with Doodlebug twine and added a sentiment from Pen & Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Love for a Lifetime

I was looking at my calendar this morning and realized that I needed three anniversary cards.  Our daughter, son and my nephew and their spouses were all married in May or June, so I'm working ahead.  Here is the first one:

I started by stamping the Cover Up Quatrefoil stamp in VersaMark ink and embossing in white embossing powder.  That stamp is not an A2 size, so I placed it on a piece of Bitty Big True Black patterned paper and gave it a striped edge.  I next stamped two of the beautiful Corner Adorner February stamps and added a sentiment from Graceful Greetings II.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

The Most Wonderful Thing

If you are guessing Valentine's Day, you would be wrong.  lol  I made this for my sweet husband for our Anniversary.  We will be celebrating 45 years on January 20th.

I don't usually use the sentiment as my focal, but I really love this one.  It's from PTI and is called Quoted The Most.  There are two other options for the little banner in the middle.  One is Celebrate Today and the other is Become Best Friends.  I, also, love the new Mix and Mat die called Hearts.

Thanks so much for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Happy Anniversary

I have been making cards for upcoming events that will fall close to our vacation, and thought I better get them posted.  Our kids both have anniversaries, one in May and one in June.

As you can see, I used the same stamp set for both - PTI Embellished Elegance.  I love all of the little flowers in this set.

Thanks for coming by to see.  Your kind comments are always appreciated!

Just Us Girls #276 - Color Week

This week at Just Us Girls it's Color Week!  Maria is hosting and she has chosen Blue, Orange and Green as our colors.

Here's my card

This card was a labor of love.  I'm giving it to my husband on January 20th when we will be celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary.  My how the time flies!  When I saw this color combo, I started looking through some of my patterned paper and I got very lucky to find a pack that featured green, orange & blue.  Mine has two shades of blue, one navy and one aqua.  I hope that will be alright with Maria. After Christmas, The Cat's Pajamas had a big sale and I was able to pick up this fun ticket set and die. I really love this and know I will find lots of uses for it.  The tag die is from Reverse Confetti and the numbers are from PTI.

Please stop by the Just Us Girls blog to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Judy Woodland,  have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and come play along!

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our January challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of March.  Good luck!

The Card Concept #100 (Happy One Year Anniversary!)

This time at The Card Concept they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary.  Congratulations, Happy Anniversary!

I love to make my own backgrounds, and I made this using a stamp set called Embellished Elegance from PTI.  I was inspired by the flowers in the picture, but changed the colors to blue and green.  My style is usually Clean and Layered.  I added some Glitzy Glitter Paper to this card, and it gives it a bit of an elegant feel.  The sentiment was embossed using Liquid Platinum.  Thanks so much for coming by to look!
