Make It Monday #176 - Backgrounds with Embossing Paste

The card that Laura made over at Make It Monday this week was so pretty that I just had to try this technique.  Here's my card:

I love, love, love this color combo.  I used Dap Fast'N Final Lightweight Spackling instead of embossing paste.  It mixed very well with reinkers to create these beautiful colors.  The gingham stencil I used is from Simon Says Stamps.  The Rosie Posie & Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp sets are my new favorite flower stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I love the look of the two-step stamping.  Thanks so much for coming by to look!

  1. Great card. I love the gingham stencil and the spackling looks so clean and even. I've never seen that before and it makes a pretty card.

  5. WOW!!! this is absolutely beautiful Sharyn. The colors are so refreshing.

  6. This is just gorgeous. I love the colors you have used, very unique and different. And of course one of my favorite stamp sets - I really LOVE this card!

  7. Sharon, that stencil effect you did is drop dead gorgeous! And the colors, once again, gorgeous! love you whole card!

  8. Absolutely stunning. Love how the flowers pop against the lively background.
