Make It Monday #222 - Die Cut Kissing

This time at Make It Monday the challenge is Die Cut Kissing.  Instead of kissing two stamps together, you kiss one stamp and a die cut.  There is a wonderful video on the Make It Monday blog, if you are interested in watching.

Here's my card

I used the Rosie Posie set from PTI.  I didn't have an intricate background die, so I used a couple of pretty flourish dies from Cheery Lynn. This gave a very fun look to the flowers.  I sponged the background for added interest and added some sequins.  Thanks for coming by to look!

The Recipe:
PTI Rosie Posie
PTI Ruby Reprise - sentiment
Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish, Mini Fanciful Flourish
Pretty Pink Posh sequins

Make It Monday #203 - Doodling With Stamps

I never realized until this challenge that I am not a doodler.  This was an eye-opener!  lol The challenge at Make It Monday is called Doodling With Stamps.  Here is what I came up with.

I started with one of my favorite PTI stamp sets, Rosie Posie.  Isn't this a happy, little flower!  I added some lines to the petals in black down one side and white down the other side, some dashes and dots and a happy face.  What a fun technique!  Thanks for coming by to look.

Recipe:
PTI Rosie Posie, Mum's the Word ( sentiment)
Hero Arts Butter Bar, Orange Soda ink
Simon Says Black ink

Make It Monday #176 - Backgrounds with Embossing Paste

The card that Laura made over at Make It Monday this week was so pretty that I just had to try this technique.  Here's my card:

I love, love, love this color combo.  I used Dap Fast'N Final Lightweight Spackling instead of embossing paste.  It mixed very well with reinkers to create these beautiful colors.  The gingham stencil I used is from Simon Says Stamps.  The Rosie Posie & Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp sets are my new favorite flower stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I love the look of the two-step stamping.  Thanks so much for coming by to look!

PTI Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Ruby Reprise
Simon Says Stamps Gingham Stencil
Dap Fast 'N Final Lightweight Spackling

This time at Seize the Birthday there is no topping, so it's anything goes as long as it's for a  birthday.

I was in a flowery mood, so I pulled out some stamp sets from PTI called Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2 and Dahlia Additions.  I love these flowers and the two step process.  Isn't the shading beautiful!

The recipe:
PTI Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2 & Dahlia Additions (sentiment)
Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles
DCWV Citrus Mat Stack
GKD ribbon

Please visit the Seize the Birthday blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team have made for this challenge.  I hope you will be inspired and want to play along.  We would love to see your creations!

Saying goodbye to my doctor

This is a sad post for me because my doctor is retiring at the end of August.  We started going to him when I was around eleven years old.  So, in a span of 50 years he has seen me through births, deaths and a lot of life in-between.  He is really going to be missed!  When I was trying to figure out what kind of card to make for him, the first thing that came to mind was one of Theresa Momber's beautiful ocean scenes.  I loved this blue card the minute I saw it. The pier reminds me of several that we have walked to and on when we have gone to the beach.  This is a CASE of Theresa's beautiful card using her By the Sea 2 stamp set.  The "happy retirement" is from Rupa Shevde's Enjoy the Journey stamp set.  Both sets are available at Gina K. Designs.

The next two cards are for my doctor's nurses.  They will be equally missed.

The recipe
PTI Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Delightful Dahlia Additions
Lil'Inkers Stitched Circle dies
Recollections pearls
MME Tangerine patterned paper
Simple Stories Summer Fresh patterned paper
