I love to sponge. It adds that little something extra that makes a card special. My beautiful flower image is from Power Poppy and it is a digi called Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher. I cut it out using a Stitched Circle die. After I colored the image, I sponged the white background with some Sweet Corn ink. It gave it a warm glow, that really isn't showing up very well in the picture. The background panel is Blue Raspberry card stock and a Cuttlebug EF called Kitchen Weave.
Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our Guest Designer, Carol Mayne, have made this week. I hope you will be inspired and come play along with us.
If you win Chic of the Week in any of our July challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of September. Good luck!

That is such a beautiful image....I may have to get it! Your sponging just adds a bit more depth, it's a nice way to make things pop just a bit more! Such a pretty card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty vase of flowers! Lovely card~
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Sharyn. The coloring on the pitcher is just beautiful. I love the color on the tulips and just a hint of color on the leaves. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! another beautiful creation Sharyn. Flowers are gorgeous and I love your soft sponging.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sharyn! I love the subtle sponging around the circle. I used to keep the cardstock in the die and sponge all the time, but kind of got away from it. I'll have to revisit that technique! Lovely card!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty, Sharyn ... the softly sponged edges make these lovely tulips pop beautifully against the bold, texture-y blue! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love your choice of images on this with the soft sponging adding so much depth.
ReplyDeleteI Absolutely wish I could color as well as you! This card is beautiful my friend!
ReplyDeleteThe sponging is subtle, but it really makes for a great look of the digi. Beautiful color on the image as it looks like I could reach out and touch it. Loving that background folder texture.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. Love your colour choice. Awesome layout and sponging.
ReplyDeleteYour subtle background sponging shows up perfectly on my screen; what a special highlight touch it adds to your gorgeous tulips! So thrilled to be joining you as GD for this challenge!

Fabulous design, Sharyn! Peachies and blues just rock my world. Love all the pattern and texture choices you put together. You know, I have this digi, printed it, and still haven't colored it. But I will! Thank you for reminding me not to neglect our goodies!
ReplyDeleteWell you have certainly done this beautiful image justice. Your coloring is fantastic, and I agree. Sponging really makes a focal pop. Well done!!
