Tis the Season - Making Christmas Cards

It's that time again!  I always say I'm going to start Christmas cards early and every year I find myself in the same place.  It's November and I haven't even started.  The inspiration for this card came from Silke Ledlow.  You will have to scroll down her page to "Inspired by the Little Things #31 challenge" to see her gorgeous card.

I didn't want to copy everything piece by piece, so changed the colors and used a fun set by Claire Brennan called Festive Foliage instead of the poinsettias.  I mass produced this one and made 20 cards.  It was quite an undertaking since the Festive Foliage set doesn't come with dies.  I ended up with 140 pieces that had to be fussy cut.  I'm very pleased with the outcome.  If  I could change anything, I might gold emboss the music instead of the ink I used.  What do you think?

Thanks so much for coming by to look.

The Recipe:

GKD Christmas Greenery - sentiment
GKD Music Background
GKD Red Velvet, Ivory Warm Cocoa, White card stock
GKD Christmas Pine, Warm Cocoa, Cranberry Tart, Red Velvet, Red Hot ink

  2. I think your hand should be hurting, that's what I think. Good for you making so many great cards already. Everyday I think I will get started and so far, other than I class I took, I haven't done a thing. I need to get Thanksgiving at the cabin over first. I have so many things running through my mind right now for it that I can't move on. I'm so happpy you are getting stamping time in. Have a wonderful holiday. I like the brown ink for the music because it ties in with the pine cones. Great job.

  3. Oh my word!!!! I cannot believe you fussy cut all that!!!! These are gorgeous - LOVE that bird. I have had my eye on that set for awhile. And you are farther along with your cards than me. I am still trying to get my cards done for the rest of the year for JUGS so I don't have to think about it. I LOVE this design....well done, my dear!!!

  4. I am with Nancy! I love this card, but when I read that you fussy cut all of that....well, they are so much more precious now. I hope that Gina makes a cut file for you and then that Santa brings you a Cameo.
