PTI September 2018 Blog Hop Inspiration

Well, second time is a charm!  I made a card using this same inspiration photo in August and didn't get the message that the challenge had been changed to September.....so here we go again.  lol

Here's the inspiration photo.  Isn't it great!

I drew my inspiration from the pumpkins,
except I gave mine happy faces, the leaves and the plaid.....
and I made my card into a Halloween card.

I made the background by sponging Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean & Peacock Feathers.  I sprinkled a little water and some Stampendous Shabby Blue EP and heated.  The plaid was made with a background stamp from GKD called Diagonal Stripe.  I used PTI Tropical Teal & Orange Zest Ink.  I cut it with the largest of the Pierced Feature Frame dies.  If you position it in the center of the paper, it will leave a little border that fits perfectly as decoration for the inside of your card.  I added a fence decorated with sprigs of bittersweet.  The pumpkins were stamped with Summer Sunrise and rock and rolled with Zesty Orange ink.  The sweet faces were stamped in True Black.  I added some leaves stamped in Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado.  I added a cute little Dracula from the MIM Halloween Pin Ups set.

Here's a peek at the card I made a month too early.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Happy Fall

I made this card for the PTI August Blog Hop, but then it was postponed, so I decided to go ahead and post it now.

I adore fall!
I love everything about it from the glorious colors to the cooler sweatshirt weather.

Well, I knew I had to work plaid in here somewhere and decided to make it my frame using the Pierced Feature Frames and a red and orange plaid paper.  The pumpkins are from the Autumn Pumpkins set.  I used some leaves from the Quilted Autumn set and the bittersweet is from the Beautiful Berries Autumn set.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

PTI Anniversary Color Challenge

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 11th Anniversary and that means many fun challenges.  The one I'm entering today is a Color Challenge.

The Color Recipe I chose belongs to Laurie Schmidlin.
 Here are her colors:

When I saw the green in this selection, I knew I had to use the beautiful Bloom & Grow stamp set.  The next thing that concerned me was the shading on the flowers, but I stamped them again in the same color making a section of the flower darker and it turned out great.

November Birthdays

November is a busy time for our family where birthdays are concerned, so I thought I better get started on them.  The time is flying by and it will be here before I know it.  Here are two I did today:

I used the PTI Road Signed set for this first one and some of their new patterned paper called Simply Chartreuse.  I think my nephew will like it.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It's that time of year when Christmas cards are on my mind.  About a month ago, I made three kits containing everything I needed to make ten each of three different cards. Here is the first one.

I started with the background.  I used the Super Gingham Stamp and black ink on red card stock.  The white card stock is layered with a gold piece of card stock  I stamped with the Holiday Greens Borders stamp.  I added the Sentiment Label Strip in gold and embossed the sentiment in black.  The pinecone, holly and flower is popped up for a little dimension.

Thanks for coming by to look.  Your kind comments are always appreciated.

Bountiful Blessings

Fall is my very favorite time of the year, and happily, I live in an area that gets to experience the changing of the seasons.  I love color and fall bursts forth with glorious color.

I bought the PTI Color Pop Autumn set when it first came out, and I think I have only made one card with it.  So, I pulled it out and started to play.  The leaves, berries and all of the little elements are so much fun.  Do you see the little acorn?
