Just Us Girls #310 - Trend Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Trend Week.  Cheryl is our hostess and she has chosen the trend of Balloons as our inspiration.

Here's my card

I started by making a Bokeh Effect background with aqua and turquoise ink.  I bought balloon dies from Paper Smooches some time ago, so pulled them out and made some colorful balloons.  The balloon strings are a stamp set from Simon Says Stamps.....just love them!  I added some sequins and some stars.

Please visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team and our GD, Melissa, have made this week.  I hope you will be inspired and play along.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our September challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of November.  Good luck!

The Recipe:
SSS Handwritten Borders
Paper Smooches Balloon Dies
MFT Jumbo Monarch Border (inside)
Tonic Star Punch

  1. Your balloons really look like that are flying high in the clouds with the Bokeh technique. A really cute card. I have the same Simon Says stamp for the strings and I agree with you. Love them.
Glad that you were inspired by the folds card on STV. Here is a site where there are tons of ideas for fold cards.

  2. Love your background and I agree with Barb, looks like your background is the sky and the balloons are sailing away! Have a great weekend!

  3. Fun, fun, fun!!! I agree your Bokeh background makes the balloons like they're floating in the sky.

  4. Super cute card! Love the writing in the string! Nicely done.

  5. Ooooo, I really like your card, Sharyn. Lovely background. Great colors and design and those strings are perfectly fun.

  6. Awesome creation you have here. Fabulous background and such lovely soft coloured balloons. Love the bling and fancy sentiment.

  7. This is so cute! I love those fun balloons with their cool strings. The added little stars and sequins are the perfect additions. Love that background, too.

Thank you for your kind comments. I always appreciate hearing from you.
