Welcome to this week's Just Us Girls Challenge
Here's my card
To do this technique you will need some reinkers, foamy shaving cream (not gel), a paper plate, paper towels, a knife, and a straight edge like a ruler. You can do a very subtle background with 1 or 2 reinkers or go more elaborate with 4 or 5 or more reinkers. After I made my panel, I decided to do 3 more to put in reserve for other projects.
I made my panel using Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea & Blue Raspberry reinkers. I love this swirly pattern and it reminded me of water. I thought it would be great with this cute stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas called Rise & Shine. I paper pieced the bunny's boots and umbrella, added an embossed piece and some twine and a button.

Please visit the Just Us Girls page to see what the rest of the talented team and our GD, Barbara, have come up with using the Shaving Cream technique. I hope you will be inspired to create something beautiful! We would love to see it!
Love how you used just the blue for your BG. Great image, layout, colour combo and card :)
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge for us Sharyn! Love your card and that cute paper pieced umbrella and boots. Your link to your blog isn't working on JUGS by the way! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis technique worked awesome with just one color! This guy is too cute with his little pink cheeks! :)
ReplyDeleteCute, cute card Sharyn. I've never done the shaving cream technique but think now is the time to try it.
ReplyDeleteI love how soft and watery your background turned out with the blues! Love the paper piecing on that cute little guy. Thanks for this fun technique.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the shaving cream technique - it's always such a surprise, and usually beautiful. Your card is so adorable, especially the bunny. And the greeting just makes me smile. Thanks for the great inspiration, I'm going to try and play along this week!!
ReplyDeleteI am just now getting to the comments for this weeks JUGS. Sure wish that I had your card to look at before I did mine. The BG is so nice and soft and does not overpower the rest of the card. I really liked the technique. I see lots of people joining in the challenge so far. They must think it is fun too.
ReplyDeleteLoving how your shaving cream technique came out, made such a beautiful background DP for the raining scene! Well done!
