Just Us Girls #243 Wild Card

Welcome to this week's Just Us Girls Challenge

Hi!  Sharyn here and I'm your hostess this week for a fun Wild Card Challenge.  This week I've chosen to do a technique using Shaving Cream to make my own background paper.  I'm adding a link for a quick video to help you get started.

Here's my card

To do this technique you will need some reinkers, foamy shaving cream (not gel), a paper plate, paper towels, a knife, and a straight edge like a ruler.  You can do a very subtle background with 1 or 2 reinkers or go more elaborate with 4 or 5 or more reinkers. After I made my panel, I decided to do 3 more to put in reserve for other projects.

I made my panel using Gina K. Designs Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea & Blue Raspberry reinkers.  I love this swirly pattern and it reminded me of water.  I thought it would be great with this cute stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas called Rise & Shine.  I paper pieced the bunny's boots and umbrella, added an embossed piece and some twine and a button.

Please visit the Just Us Girls page to see what the rest of the talented team and our GD, Barbara, have come up with using the Shaving Cream technique.  I hope you will be inspired to create something beautiful!  We would love to see it!

  7. I am just now getting to the comments for this weeks JUGS. Sure wish that I had your card to look at before I did mine. The BG is so nice and soft and does not overpower the rest of the card. I really liked the technique. I see lots of people joining in the challenge so far. They must think it is fun too.
