Last week was an interesting week.

I had oral surgery.

If you had told me that at sixty-six years of age 

I would have to have my wisdom teeth out,

I would have said you were crazy.

You're probably thinking I can't believe at sixty-six years of age

she still has wisdom teeth.  lol

I also had two bony tumors called Tori

in the space under my tongue.

That surgery required me to be put to sleep.

Everything was done and all is well.

This card is for my oral surgeon and his staff.

They were wonderful!

The beautiful stamps and dies I used on these cards

are from The Greetery's August release.

I have been making bits and pieces

from these sets for a few days.

Today I was able to put some cards together.

I used Budding Beauties Autumn,

Autumn Sketches,

Bottled Up,

and Sentiment Suite Birthday.

On this card I used Knit Wits stencil,

and Bountiful Wreath.

And finally, on this card I used

Knit Wits stencil,

Cotton Comforts, and

Halfsies Diamond die.

You're On My Mind

I adore the colors of Fall!  

The richness of the golds, reds, oranges, yellows and greens are glorious.

I had to break down and buy the Leaf Print set,

 and doesn't it look gorgeous in these pretty fall colors?

  I am also in love with the Text & Texture Wood Slices set

.  It is the perfect background for so many cards.

Happy Fall

I made this card for the PTI August Blog Hop, but then it was postponed, so I decided to go ahead and post it now.

I adore fall!  

I love everything about it from the glorious colors to the cooler sweatshirt weather.  

Well, I knew I had to work plaid in here somewhere and decided to make it my frame using the Pierced Feature Frames and a red and orange plaid paper.  The pumpkins are from the Autumn Pumpkins set.  I used some leaves from the Quilted Autumn set and the bittersweet is from the Beautiful Berries Autumn set.

Make It Monday #325 Flowers In Reverse

This week on Make It Monday Dawn showed us how to add color to floral cards in a new way.

This is a fun twist on how we usually make our flowers...lots of white and lots of layers with pops of color, especially on the leaves.

Fall is my very favorite time of the year, and happily, I live in an area that gets to experience the changing of the seasons.  I love color and fall bursts forth with glorious color.

I bought the PTI Color Pop Autumn set when it first came out, and I think I have only made one card with it.  So, I pulled it out and started to play.  The leaves, berries and all of the little elements are so much fun.  Do you see the little acorn?

Just Us Girls #363 - Word Week

This time at Just Us Girls it's Word Week.  I am your hostess and I have chosen the word Leaves as our inspiration.

My favorite thing about living in the Midwest is the changing of the seasons.  Fall is such a special and beautiful time.  The air takes on a crisp quality and the leaves turn into gorgeous color.  It really is a sight to see. 

I started by applying watercolors to my background and then adding some splatters.  The leaves are from MFT and are called Layered Leaves. I used various Fall colors in card stock for them.  I, also, added some fun sequins.

This will be my last post as a member of the design team.  Life is getting in the way and I need to step back and focus my attentions in other areas.  I still plan on puttering around in my craft room as often as I can.  Many thanks to all of the wonderful ladies on this team.  I will miss all of you!

This one took some thought.  I wanted to make a flower arrangement, but knew I couldn't use green leaves, so decided to make very colorful leaves.  lol  I love how this came out with the pretty die set from MFT.

My card

I decided to make a card with leaves gently falling.  I used an emboss resist technique to stamp the leaves and then sponged them with some Fall colors.

This was a fun card to make.  For those of you who know me, you know that I love to make my own backgrounds.  This topping seemed like the perfect opportunity!  I pulled out an oldie but a goodie from Gina K. Designs called Grateful Heart.  I love that the leaves are decorated with a pretty design, and they stamp beautifully. I paired the leaves with some of my favorite fall colors.  Thanks so much for coming by to look.

Just Us Girls #260 - Photo Week

This week at Just Us Girls it's Photo Week.  Sue V. has chosen a beautiful Fall photo to inspire us. Before we get started I have a couple of announcements.  I want to thank Barbara Hagen for being our GD for September and sharing her wonderful talent with us.  Thanks, Barbara!  I, also, want to welcome two talented ladies to our team, Ina Grehan & Chris Dring.  Welcome, ladies!  You can see their beautiful cards beginning with our October challenges.  Be sure to come back and show them some love.

 Don't you just love Fall colors!  This is my favorite time of the year.  It's not too hot and not too cold, and I love the changing of the leaves with all of that glorious color.  I tried to capture some of that color in my card, take a look.

I started by using a Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A die on white card stock.  While the die was still in place, I sponged first with GKD Sweet Corn and then with Sweet Mango.  The pumpkins were stamped, colored and fussy cut, so they could be popped up with pop dots.  I used a couple of leaf punches to make four colors of leaves and embossed them with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder.  I added a ribbon, button and some twine to finish it off.

Just Us Girls #257 - Word Week

This week at Just Us Girls is Word Week.  Cheryl is hosting and has chosen Leaves as our word. With Fall fast approaching, this should provide you with lots of inspiration! Can't wait to see what you come up with.  I would, also, like to welcome our Guest Designer, Barbara Hagen into the fold. Welcome, Barbara!

I love Fall!  It is my favorite time of year.  The temperature is cooler, and the trees begin to show their beautiful colors.  It will soon be time to have a fire in the fire pit......love it!

I used a stamp set from Gina K. Designs called Autumn Leaves for my focal image, and Fall Foliage for the sentiment.  The patterned paper is called Grateful Heart, also, from GKD.  I love the wood grain look and the gorgeous colors in this paper.  It paired wonderfully with GKD Ivory, Cranberry Tart & Warm Cocoa card stock.  I just bought some new dies from Reverse Confetti that I was anxious to use.  I love them on this card.
